"(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" is the Monkees' iconic rock anthem from their second album, More of the Monkees. Written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, the song had previously been released as album cuts on Paul Revere and the Raiders' Midnight Ride album and the Liverpool Five record Arrive. It was the first Monkees B-side to chart, reaching #20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song is frequently covered, and went on to be a hit single for punk band The Sex Pistols in 1976 and Liverpool pop group The Farm in 1990.
